Description

Pr Dr Patrizia Anna d'Alessio, MD PhD CEO AISA Therapeutics Cell Biology Faculties of Medicine Université Paris René Descartes & Université Paris Sud-11 1984-2011 University of Milan (IT), University of Utrecht (NL), King's College London (UK), INSERM Paris (FR) CNRS Gif-sur Yvette (FR) Patrizia A d'Alessio, graduated in medicine (MD) from the University of Milan (Italy), specializing in internal medicine-hematology, clinical and laboratory medicine. Doctorate in Hemo-Rheology in 1989 from Utrecht University (Netherlands). After a post-doc at King's College (London), she continued her research at the Université René Descartes in Paris (France), where she was appointed Professor of Cell Biology in 1998. Her work, fueled by the notions of shear stress and oxidative stress, focuses on the mechanisms of cellular senescence promoted by stress factors and revealed by inflammatory markers, leading to chronic disease and aging. In collaboration with the CNRS (ICSN), she conducted bio-guided research on medicinal plant extracts harvested at the University of Hanoi (Vietnam), which led to the discovery in 2002 of a non-toxic anti-inflammatory molecule called AISA (Anti-Inflammatory- Senescence Active) also capable of reversing the senescent phenotype. Between 2003 and 2008, with George Uzan, she co-directed Dr Deng-hai Zhang's group at Shanghai Fudan University (China), in collaboration with Pudong Gongli Hospital, on AISA analogues of the same chemical class. Between 2005 and 2008, 3 international patents were issued in Europe, the United States and China. In 2005, the Prix National de la création d'entreprise innovante enabled her to launch the start-up AISA Therapeutics, www.aisa-tx.com. After intensive preclinical work (2005-2008) on various animal models, in 2009-2013 she co-directed the European FP7 consortium RISTOMED, which enabled her to validate the anti-inflammatory effect of AISA's lead monoterpene d-Limonene in a first human study. “Healthy aging through nutrition” is therefore possible if accompanied by supplementation capable of regulating chronic inflammation in stressed adults. Over the past 10 years, Prof. d'Alessio has conducted several observational studies and trials, disseminating the contributions of her innovative, multidisciplinary research. She has also published and edited history of science books on the same subjects. Today an international KOL in the field of aging and its associates stress and chronic inflammation. Since 2015, the AISA moleculum brand collection of products, has been successfully offered in nearly 25 countries, as a dietary supplement to address permeable gut failures, stress management and beautifying aging skin.
